The Beatles Prove You’re Lazy.

The Beatles albums are all in the top 50 of iTunes sellers just days after their digital release. What does that tell me? That there is money to be extracted from the same piece of work again and again. The naysayers all said “Who is going to buy the digital version when most consumers already have the CDs.” Well ladies and gentlemen we have proven the naysayers wrong again- we are a lazy society that does not want to go through the laborious action of burning our CDs into iTunes. Why would we when a frictionless delivery system such as iTunes can provide the music to our iPhones with a few thumb taps. This compared to finding the cd, putting it into our computers, having iTunes burn it, then copying it to the playlist we want, then syncing our phones (ipods, itouch, whatever).

See we have moved a few meters towards instant gratification and we are willing to pay for that satisfaction. We don’t want to listen to the music in a little we want it now. Right now. Sad? Sure. Reality? You bet. Those with the systems in place to satisfy this urge will win again and again on the primal needs of providing immediate satisfaction.
